Hello again everyone! In yesterday's post, I discussed my first step of makeup removal, using the Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil. Today, I'm going to discuss the second step of my makeup removal routine, using...
The Almay Oil-Free Makeup Remover Towelettes! These have 25 towelettes per pack and retail for around $5-$6 and can be found at any drugstore as well as Ulta. I usually just wait until there's a sale at Rite Aid or Walgreens because that's where they will probably run the best sales, although Ulta sometimes does run a pretty good deal on these, they always seem to be out of stock.
Ingredients: Aqua (Water) (Water, Eau), Cetearyl Isononanoate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth 20, Glycerin, Cucumis Sativus, Cucumis Sativa (Cucumber) Fruit Extract (Cucumber), Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis) Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Glyceryl Distearate, Benzoic Acid, Ceteareth 12, Cetyl Palmitate, Diazolidinyl Urea, Tetrasodium EDTA, Caprylyl Glycol, 1,2 Hexanediol.
(Disclaimer: The ingredients were taken from Ulta.com, not from the package itself.)
Now, onto my thoughts of this product. I really don't hear much about this in the beauty community, but these were my very first makeup remover wipes, and I still use them to this day. I haven't found anything better, and whenever I try to branch out, the new product that I try is never as good as this. This has little to no scent, and has never broken me out. It does sting my cheeks though, if I use this alone and not as a follow-up to the Boscia Cleansing Oil. I usually don't use this around my eyes, but if I wore heavy eye makeup, then I will just swipe this after the oil cleanser to get anything left behind. That's really the purpose of these towelettes ever since I got the cleansing oil, to catch any left over makeup. I just use one towelette to swipe across my skin after using the oil cleanser and then, once I've made sure that all the makeup is off, I follow-up with my washcloth and water to rinse off any slight residue left over from the cleansing oil and towelette.
Not a bad product all in all, I've stuck with it for years because I knew it didn't break me out or have a weird reaction. I consider this a staple to go along with the Boscia Oil Cleanser. I would recommend this if you're in the market for some makeup remover wipes and want one that's relatively gentle! I've also seen on the Almay website that they've changed the look of the packaging.
