Hello and welcome back to my blog! Today, I'm sharing with you all my everyday makeup products and routine for back to school/college/university.
Without further ado, let's take a look at the routine!
Step #1: Foundation
I use the Bare Minerals Matte Foundation in the shade Golden Ivory with my Real Techniques Buffing or Expert Face Brush. I tap a bit of the powder foundation onto the lid and then dip my brush in and buff it all over my skin. I do a very thin layer so that it doesn't look cakey.
Step #2: Concealer
I just use my foundation for concealer. I do this by putting a bit more powder into the lid, and using my Real Techniques Deluxe Crease or Base Shadow Brush, I swirl it into the powder and buff it onto any blemishes, redness, or acne scarring not covered by the initial layer of foundation.
Step #3: Contour
I don't really have a bronzer to contour with, so currently, I'm using another Bare Minerals Matte Foundation in the shade Golden Tan, which is a couple of shades darker than my skin. I tap out a tiny bit into the lid and then swirl my Real Techniques Contour Brush and brush this in the hollow of my cheeks and around my temples. This particular color is warmer than I'd like for a contour, but it works because it's summer, so it gives a nice warmth to the skin. I do want to pick up the Kevin Aucoin Contour Powder in Medium once the Sephora VIB sale comes around.
Step #4: Highlight
I love highlighter, and I use the Hourglass Ambient Metallic Strobe Lighting Palette. This was limited edition for the holidays last year and I'm hoping they'll bring it back again this year or do something similar. I use the two lighter shades - the pink - Lucent Strobe Light and the golden shade - Pure Strobe Light. I take first the Lucent shade onto my Real Techniques Setting Brush and brush that along the tops of my cheekbones and then along my brow bone. I follow that with the Pure shade and layer it on top in the same areas. It gives a beautiful champagne glow to the skin that never looks powdery or sparkly.
Step #5: Brow Gel
I love the Maybelline Brow Drama as a way to tame my eyebrows. I have it in the shade Black Brown and it gives a nice, defining tint to my brows and keeps the hairs in place without feeling crunchy.
Step #6: Eye Primer
I've used a few eye primers, but my favorite is by far the NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base I've since used that up and am in the process of finishing up my Urban Decay Primer Potion.
Step #7: Cream Eyeshadow
I don't really have time in the mornings to do an elaborate eye look, so most mornings, I'll use the Butter London Glazen Eye Gloss in the shade Starlight (review coming soon!) - a beautiful, gel-like shadow which looks almost wet on the lid, all over the lid. I've included a picture below - it's so gorgeous!
Step #8: Mascara
My favorite mascara is the Loreal Lash Paradise in the waterproof version. I curl my lashes with an old Mary Kay lash curler that has Shiseido replacement pads (amazing, from amazon!). The mascara hardly smudges underneath my oily eyelids and it keeps the curl until I take it off at night. Right now though, I'm trying out the IT Cosmetics Superhero mascara.
Step #9: Lip Gloss
I absolutely love the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Lip Shine in Radiant Rose (review here) as my everyday lip product.
All right, those are all of the products that I use on an everyday basis for class. I hope you found some new products to try out and help quicken your routines. Leave me a comment below with the products that you use on a daily basis. Thank you all for reading, and I'll talk to you tomorrow! :)
